The HiKey 960 board is powered by an octa-core Kirin 960 SoC with
four Cortex-A73 cores running at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.8GHz and a 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
It is also equipped with a Mali-G71 MP8 GPU that can support a maximum of 4K graphics, and a 32GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage and a microSD card slot.
Now, about connectivity

Currently, the board runs on AOSP android with a little bit of customization.
The board comes with android 4.4 Kernel, that is kitkat, but it seems like it can be changed pretty easily
