You all might be familiar with Raspberry Pi; the mini computer that changed the world of hobbyist and hackers.This year, a new variant of Pi Zero – The Raspberry Pi Zero W with WiFi and Bluetooth was launched. Another competitor, the Orange Pi, has come out with its own counter to the Raspberry Pi Zero W. Recently ASUS developed a board that is similar to that of pi and offers some neat upgrades compared to Raspberry Pi 3. The HiKey 960 Board is designed as alternative to Raspberry Pi, using ARM mobile technology specifically for Android developers.
It’s a super-powered single board computer alternative to raspberry pi, that is priced at $ 239. Its a little bit costly for a Single board computer but, its totally worth the price.

 Specs

The HiKey 960 board is powered by an octa-core Kirin 960 SoC with four Cortex-A73 cores running at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.8GHz and a 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
It is also equipped with a Mali-G71 MP8 GPU that can support a maximum of 4K graphics, and  a 32GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage and a microSD card slot. Now, about connectivity
The HiKey 960 has a HDMI 1.2a port that ,as told earlier can support upto 4K display, Dual band Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth version 4.1, two USB3.0 Type-A ports, one USB2.0 Type-C OTG port, PCI Express M.2 connector and ports to connect your camera modules.

OS

Currently, the board runs on AOSP android with a little bit of customization.
The board comes with android 4.4 Kernel, that is kitkat, but it  seems like it can be changed pretty easily
